3 Killed In Avalanche on Italy’s Alps, Airlifted To Hospital

A woman and two seven-year-old girls were killed in an avalanche during a skiing at Val Senales in the Alps, Italy. The BBC quoted Italian media as saying that the woman (35) was the mother of one of the girls. The three were skiing at an altitude of 7,900 feet at Val Senales in South Tyrol near the Austrian border. All three German citizens are being told. During the search operation, 70 workers and three helicopters recovered the bodies. The report said that two victims died on the spot, while a girl was airlifted to the hospital, although she died on the way. There have been many avalanches in the Alps during this cold season.
